Thank you Salavat for an amazing story and reminder of what is important. If we looked at every child that needed help as having bricks on their feet for strength we would do all we could to help create a stronger foundation.

I hope you keep writing, you are a powerful writer with an important perspective and message to share - thanks again.

Thanks Brad for reminding me why I started the Alpine Fund, and for mentioning the hard work of Arianna as the director and Salavat as the former program participant now program manager, and the amazing crew of volunteers that we have now and that have helped us over the years.

And you are right to remember the smiles more than anything else. In the ten years of the Alpine Fund taking kids to the mountains I wonder how many thousands and thousands of smiles there have been. I know the smiles I have seen I too will never forget, and the tears too when the weekend is over. I am confident that something from a mountain trip stays with the children forever.

So thanks again for helping the Alpine Fund out, to take the time to write about your weekend - and of course we all want to see the photos!

All the best,

Garth

I sometimes wonder - who has more fun on these trips - the kids or the volunteers? :)
- (
I ask because I am totally jealous and would love to go on an Alpine Fund weekend at the dacha)
